Day 30 - Albuquerque

Today is oil-change day for our battle-truck, and while the totally terrific crew at Beaver Toyota see to that, we are seeing to morning coffee at Iconik Coffee.

Meanwhile, in the Men's room at Iconik, obscure math rules.

Hats matter.

People stop to gaze with astonishment as the trees suddenly turn blue. A vortex appears overhead.

The blue trunked trees maintain a strict alignment inside the pattern buffer - awaiting the orders to beam up.

Next to the blue trees, this alien egg lands with a thump. It emits a low thrumming sound, much like that flying saucer from day 22.

Once again, we discover remnants of the beloved Route 66.

We're 2 states away from California - alarming news - theVW's are forming a New Mexico invasion force. But first they must eat.

Downtown Albuquerque - the pigeons are amused.

Yup. Free smells. We can attest to freely smelly.

A different take on a trip to the library.

Thunder Chicken Terminal.

One of many murals in the downtown core.

The vortex the big egg came from.

The vortex heads towards Russia, where we guess it will lay more eggs.

We discover the true bright lights of Albuquerque - east of downtown.

This is where the Albuquercans keep their really cool stuff.

The town really comes alive around the University district - this is the place to look for good eats and lively streets.
